34th Annual Youth Conference launches #LetLoveLead campaign against Gender Based Violence

During the 34th Annual Youth Conference, the Methodist Church in Zimbabwe took a significant step in the fight against Sexual Gender-Based Violence (#SGBV) by launching the #LetLoveLead campaign at the Women’s Centre in Epworth. This initiative, supported by the All Africa Conference of Churches is dedicated to fostering a safe and inclusive environment while advocating against all forms of abuse.

The Presiding Bishop Reverend G.T. Mawire reinforced this commitment, affirming the Church’s unwavering stance on safeguarding its members and ensuring a welcoming, abuse-free environment. He stressed that the Methodist Church should be a beacon of safety and refuge for everyone.

Reverend J. Paradza, the Safeguarding and Gender Officer, in her launching message urged the Church and community to unite in ending violence and all forms of abuse. She emphasized that faith institutions must serve as safe spaces where love, respect, and dignity prevail.

Through the #LetLoveLead campaign, the Methodist Church in Zimbabwe is not only raising awareness but also taking an active role in addressing and combating #SGBV. This movement stands as a call to action, encouraging communities to embrace love, reject all forms of abuse, and create a society where safety and dignity are upheld for all.
